My suggestion - keep bass to full and mid to lowest and leave treble on default or a point above. You can then use 3rd party apps such as PowerAmp Equilizer to further fine-tune the sound output. This speaker has high output on mid and bass which is good for clarity and loudness with punchy bass especially when kept in places like under the table or on shell where wooden enclosures can amplify the bass and control the mids and treble. I doubt people who are acquainted to more deeper sounds such as Bose or Sony would argue, but you can be assured that you are getting sound quality from JBL worth every penny you have spent. Similar specs on higher brands would cost double and might not even live upto the JBL standard. So do your research and visit outlets if you are evaluating various brands.
