Installed the winch which was relatively straightforward. I realized that the wireless remote was missing and contacted them and they responded within a day and sent me a whole new control box. There's lots of cheap chinese winches out there with similar quality (some branded by American companies too), but support is critical and Xbull has been great when I needed them. I've used the winch to pull my rig a few times off road and it's performed well. Read more

I installed this and mounted up easy. I mean, it’s a winch. I have a few easily fixable issues and one major concern. First the wires come straight out the back of the solenoid. 2” maybe a lil more and then you can bend without stressing the box too much. You’ll probs have to mount it with the wires going forward if you’re using a recessed bumper. I did that and clears fine. But the power/ground/switch wires are too short on my controller box and had to be mounted as far left on the winch rails as possible to be able to have enough lead to connect. Either way the solenoid faces the lines out of it are 1-2” too short to mount box in center of winch. Again easy enough to move it over. Had just enough cable to attach them and then mount box on top left. The solenoid box female connector is slightly too big for the cap cover to stay put. It’ll pop up soon as you start driving. And wired winch remote plug fits a little loose as well. This might be a bigger issue in winter as tolerances decrease. Or even bouncing some winching out of spots. I grabbed a winch cover so will see if that helps keeps debris and ice/etc out of the connector. Last is the winch bolts. Sketchy. They looked ok, 8.8 bolts (grade 5) But, you can see in the photos that the bolts are slightly bent. This is from one 40-50 foot static pull on flat ground. I was checking the line, winch, etc. The bolts were torqued to spec. I noticed by accident. I had removed the bolts afterwards to remove the winch to adjust the bumper a little bit for better clearance and saw the bolts were tweaked. I replaced with better hardware. I’m glad I wasn’t mid recovery and then had the bolts shear off and send a 65lb missile at someone. Check your hardware if you’ve been using it a bit. This was one pull Read more
