Plugged this into the return of my Marshall DLS40C's effects loop and was not impressed at all. It was OK, but not better than an SL Drive or Throttle Box. Plugged it into the front of my Mesa Mk V-35 and man was it noisy. But then it was realized that humbucker splitter switch was engaged. Flipped it back over to full humbucker mode got a very cool sound. Turned the gain down to around 10 o'clock, bass at 10 o'clock, treble at straight up 12 o'clock, and Master at 12 o'clock. Cranked up the amp a bit and put it on the bridge Bare Knuckle pickup. A nice vicious sound. It's not a Dual Rectifier, but it's still in the awesome category when considering the $49 price tag. I purchased the Nux Plexi and was blown away, so I bought this one having the same expectations. I was disappointed as I found that it doesn't nail the MB Rectifier sound like the Plexi nails the Marshall. I ended up returning this one. Read more

There are really no real reviews or demos on this little gem online but from the little I saw, I figured why not take the chance. It's only $50 right and you can always return it. It arrived on time and I was excited to try it out. I plugged it in the input of my Egnater with all knobs set straight up except volume, engaged it and just WOW! It's really as close as you can get to a recto in a box. I don't even have to adjust anything on the pedal and it's basically the sound I hear in my head. It is a little bass heavy, but then again so are the Recto's. After playing for a good amount of time I decided to give it the real test and plug it into my Supro Thunderbolt.. and it got even better. If you are looking for that mesa sound and can't stomach forking out $1200-2000 on a real one, give this a shot. I don't believe you will be disappointed at all.
