Overall I was very happy with this guitar for the price. I had to do a basic setup which I typically do on all new guitars, especially cheap ones like this. I polished the frets, oiled the fingerboard, installed new strings, adjusted the truss rod to get the neck straight, and set the intonation and action on the bridge. This took me about an hour in total and was pretty straightforward to do. A couple of the bridge saddles were a bit tight and didn't want to adjust with the (included) small Allen wrench. A few drops of gun oil in the mechanism resolved this, and I was able to adjust the bridge pretty easily. Adjusting the height of the string saddles is quite unusual on this bridge. There are 2 small hex head screws, one of which is a lock screw and the other is a height adjustment. You need to loosen the lock screw first, then you can adjust the height of the roller saddle using the other one (the height varies by turning the cam), and then lock the height back down when you are done. It took me a while to figure this out but it's actually very easy to do once you get the hang of it. A few drops of light oil in the tuning machines also helps to smooth the action. You do need to use the tiny wrench that is magnetically attached to the bridge to adjust the tuning. However, once the new strings were stretched and settled in, and the truss rod correctly set, I have found tuning stability to be excellent. The guitar is well balanced; the headless design means there is absolutely no neck dive. It's light, comfortable, and easy to play. The neck is smooth, the fretwork is pretty decent (just needs a polish to get rid of the tooling marks and graininess), and the pickups are actually very good. I've set mine up with 009 to 042 gauge strings and it's a joy to play. The action is low with no fret buzz, tuning stability is good, and it sounds great. Overall I am very happy with my purchase. If you're not comfortable doing basic setup work like this, I'd suggest you find someone in your local guitar shop to do this for you. It really makes the guitar play and feel at its true potential. Most cases for headless guitars are stupidly expensive, and Eart only offers a very spendy soft bag. Gator's hard case is almost as much as the guitar, which might be okay if you are a gigging musician and ship your axe a lot. The neck, fingerboard and frets live up to everything I have heard in reviews on YouTube, and it is indeed very playable. Construction is solid, the weight is very nice and light, and the stock pickups are more than adequate. The shape and small size also make it easy to play. I love the bridge and solid tailpiece setup - it is well engineered and solid. While I am not a fan of single volume and tone control setups, I understand that compromise at this price, and I know there are a lot of people who do like them. I find it limits the sonic flavors of a dual pickup guitar way too much, but in this price range, I am more than happy to accept it. A good graphic EQ should be part of one's effect chain, anyway. The colors are not as bright and vibrant as the pictures, but the finish is still nice. I was planning on getting one of the natural finishes, but when this model went on sale for around $90 off, I could not pass that up. I got it mainly for the headless design and very good fretboard with stainless steel frets, as well as the zero fret. You just don't see stainless steel frets in guitars this inexpensive (or even twice this much). I did not give them 5 stars for two reasons - one being the control setup, but the other big one is that they do not offer a hard case for it, and it is very difficult to find a hard case to fit it. Also, $150 for a soft case is a bit much. Gator makes a hard case that will fit, but it costs almost as much as the guitar. Sigh . . . . Also, the bridge, although fantastic, is a bit hard on the hand if you use a picking style that anchors part of your palm on the bridge (which I am learning). A smooth cover of some sort would be nice touch. I am already playing more, as the size of ths guitar makes it easier to keep handy, and the resonance without an amp is suprising, albeit on the quiet side, of course. It will make an excellent practice guitar, but I don't know how it will hold up to playing gigs. However, since something like 97 percent of guitar players don' t do gigs, but play informally, I consider it excellent in it's price range. Frankly, I don't know why there aren't more headless guitars. It seems like a way better design to me. It plays as well as guitars more than twice the price, and it has stainless steel frets! Not as nice as my Carvin DC-200, but then that doesn't have stanless steel frets (I wish it did). That guitar was also nearly three times the price of the Eart, and it was easily the equal of guitars twice the Carvin price, so not really a fair comparison. Well worth it, as far as I am concerned. The guitar has cool features. The tuners are on the bridge and made of brass which is nice and unique for a headless. Tuning is easy, but switching strings can take a minute to get used to. It’s not hard, just different. Adjusting the action is a little irritating. You have a bag of tools that comes in the box that are needed to adjust a lot of the features. If you have a solid guitar Allen key set, you will be set without need of most or all the tools included. The body is comfortable for the most part, but it can definitely be a pain at times. Depending on which leg you use to rest it on and the stand you use, the pain is only as bad as the situation allows. The pickups are very subpar. They have a very cheap sound. They both seem to muddy together regardless of which of the 3 positions the switch is in. Adjusting the truss rod does very little. In the end it’s a cheap and very subpar introduction to headless guitars. If I had the knowledge I have now I would not have bought this guitar. Mine could have just been a lemon, but for some reason I doubt it. Save your money and or get a different guitar or save your money to get a better guitar. 2/10 would not recommend. Read more

So I bought this fully intending to use it mostly for when I travel, but when I pulled it out of the box I was absolutely mind blown at the quality and feel. It’s very light; the body is small but not so small that it’s hard to play. The cut outs in the body are placed well and allow for easy playing while at a desk. It plays amazing and the pickups are actually pretty good. I was thinking about swapping them out for some DiMarzios but these are good enough that I haven’t bothered to look into that a whole lot. I use amp sims almost exclusively though so I cannot speak for regular amp performance. The bone nut is a really cool feature for such an inexpensive guitar, and the frets are polished well and are smooth. The out of the box set up was pretty good and there doesn’t appear to be any dead notes. Making adjustments is easy, and I absolutely love the wheel at the bottom of the neck for adjusting the truss rod. Way better than having to jam a wrench in between the strings on the headstock. Hugely impressed with this guitar! I was initially a little skeptical but it very quickly became a favorite to pick up. If you are interested in a headless and don’t have Strandberg money, this is 100% a killer option. I’d love to see a 7 string in the future, I absolutely would not hesitate. The finish is very cool and unique, but seeing some standard finishes would also be a lot of fun. My only gripe is that the bridge sits up higher than what I’m used to, so palm muting and chugging took a little getting used to. I’d also love to see a gig bag made available, I had to find one on eBay that would fit it. These notes are not enough for me to give any less than 5 stars though! Read more

The guitar plays like a dream. It's build quality is superb. This headless guitar is not just for the shredder. It has a simple, old school layout: 2 humbuckers and a 3 way switch, one volume one tone control. The pickups are PAF pickups. Not high output at all. Combined with the peduke body and hardtail bridge, the tones are very reminiscent of a gibson SG. I'm a jazz/funk/fusion player, and this guitar is perfect for what I do. As far as the feel, playing standing up with a strap the guitar is very well balanced and comfortable to play. It stays in tune incredibly well. I don't have anything bad to say about it. I've bought dozens of budget guitars, Harley Benton, IYV to name a couple. I have 2 Eart guitars and both are a huge step above the other "budget" brands. If you're thinking about getting a different headless because it's 50 or 100 cheaper, don't. Hold out and get the Eart, it's well worth it. Read more
