Just as handy on my dresser top as the one on my bathroom counter. However, I didn't buy the same brand twice, so slight differences: This one has higher sides on top & bottom, so less chance of stuff falling, though I don't plan to spin-race this thing. Those higher sides are the gem-cut pattern, which does look quite pretty, a plus over my other one. The top of this one has a lot of built-in segments for storage. Both a plus and a minus, as personally what I need it for didn't have as many tiny things, so many bottles etc don't fit on top, so it's only 1/2 full. The top on my other one is blank open on 3/4 of it, and I actually prefer that flexibility, once I got used to the potential for things to roll up there.
