I have long, thick, straight hair that can handle silicones pretty well, but I wanted a hydrating shampoo without them for part of my biweekly deep conditioning routine. I've been pleased with this brand's clarifying shampoo in the past, so I figured this would be a solid choice. The consistency is fabulous (nice and thick!) and it builds a lather even better than most sulfate shampoos. It provides pretty good slip, especially considering the lack of silicones, and leaves my hair feeling soft and tangle-free even before adding conditioner. The fragrance is strong and herbal; straight from the bottle it's too much for me, but after rinsing and drying it's more subtle, although it does linger. It's not awful, but it's probably my least favorite part of the product. I followed up with Hydrate Superfood treatment (which also has a somewhat herbal scent, but more banana-y) and my hair feels great. I'm seriously considering testing the regular Hydrate line for day to day use in place of my usual products. ETA: I've since purchased the Hydrate Sheer Conditioner and both the shampoo and conditioner in the regular Hydrate line. They're all fantastic products. Read more

I am super happy I tried this version of the hydrate shampoo. Previously I tried a small bottle of Pureology Hydrate, which I loved. I have ultra fine hair, that is balayage blonde. Nearly any shampoo dries it out so I figured the sheer was a great choice ! Pureology uses clean ingredients that I love and the shampoo is great. I have always used salon shampoos, but this one really stands out for me personally. I purchased the Litre sold by Amazon.ca. Bottle arrived in clean, normal condition. I was worried about purchasing after reading many negative reviews. Thankfully that wasn’t my experience. Pros: Super concentrated (only need a bit to lather) Leaves scalp feeling clean. Similar to a good clarifying shampoo. Shiny. Hydrated, with zero hair breakage or dryness. The ingredients. Cons: Not crazy about the scent. Read more
