These are *great all around*, with clear and solid sound. One small note—if you run sound tests, you might notice some **rattling in the 1-20 Hz range**, but in actual gaming, it's not really an issue. The *THX Spatial Audio* works well, but sometimes the *audio driver can bug out*, requiring a quick unplug/replug or a restart of the *Razer software* (which does need to be running for full functionality—probably the biggest downside). The *mute button* is a nice touch, and the knobs for volume and controls are super convenient. The *fabric ear covers* are a big win—they won’t flake like fake leather over time, and best of all, *they’re comfortable with glasses*, which is something I always struggle with on other headsets. Purchased at 124 SGD. Good sound and mic quality at this price. Razer SW provides quite some mic tuning. The compare video can be found on YT, actual experience is close to those review. I personally choose V2 over V2 X cuz I'm particular on the wire material so I pay the extra. But TBH I think if your budget is right at the 130 SGD, V2 X is better for value. Also if your head is bigger than average people, this headset should be the most comfortable one to put on, compare to HyperX, Logitech equivalents. The design is not that aesthetic, per se, but its mechanics does allow for low pressure on your head. For someone play games for more than 3~4hrs a day, comfort can be important. The only thing I felt unsatisfied is that although the mic is great on this headset(if you use dedicated sound card), the bundled usb sound card compresses it too much that it just become mediocre. I bought a new monitor, which doesn't have speakers in it (a deliberate choice) so wanted some good headphones that I could use to watch films with and play games with. I recently purchased the "Razer Blackshark V2 Gaming Headsetand with detachable microphone" and it has exceeded my expectations in both performance and comfort. My review is based on a gaming environment. Comfort (5/5): In my case, I'm someone who has always use big headsets but all of them while an hour of use, my ears start to hurt. With this set that wasn't the case. I think my ears are an average mid-size and they have plenty of space inside the ear cushion. So they don't press them at all, and after almost 4 months of use I have never felt once pain again. Build Quality (4.5/5): The build quality is solid overall, with a durable frame that feels like it can withstand everyday use. I picked this set as it didn't came with the "faux leather" as those will last less. This one feels that will last a lot. If you take care of them of course. The only minor concern is the plastic construction, which may be susceptible to rough handling. However, with proper care, it should hold up well. Mic Performance (4.5/5): The microphone delivers clear and crisp communication during online gaming or virtual meetings. Also gives you the change to adjust them based on your voice colour and tone. I tent to speak low and with a heavier voice, so most mics won't get my voice when I start speaking. This ones will give you even the chance to adjust lower sounds to be higher. It certainly gets the job done and exceeds expectations for a gaming headset. Also consider that you might be able to replace it in a future with just an easy detach and replace without actually replacing the entire thing. Connectivity and Compatibility (5/5): Setting up the headset was a breeze. It will install the software, and this will give you all the access to the studio. You can even create profiles for each one of your games and it will automatically adjust them once you open your game. I haven't heard complains from my team mates during the game and they understand everything I say, something that wasn't happening with my previous headset. Just make sure once it has been installed, to make your computer use the proper output audio settings, and also let you games use the default option which will be the studio output. My boyfriend has been using the same pair of Turtle Beach's for 6 years, They work but there is little comfort, poor sound and the pleather ear muffs are peeling terribly. I compared headset prices and ratings for a while before getting him these. Simple setup and install with the included flash drive and the Expected computer restart after download and the program was working immediately. My boyfriend had fun changing his audio settings and boosting the bass. However, there is a known issue with the spatial sound option that completely flips the left and right. There isn't any solution as of right now until Razer fixes this. So right now my bf is content just turning the spatial setting off until then. The headset is so comfortable but since this headset has fabric earmuffs, we will have to buy covers to keep it clean from sweat. Hopefully they will last him a long time, but only time will tell! Let me preface by stating I am reviewing the Blackshark v2 pro. Sometimes amazon combines similar item reviews, this is important and that I have owned this for over a year with consistent usage, using it multiple days a week for 1-8 hours. This thing has a lot going for it with very few downsides that in my opinion do not outweigh the pros and if you can get this for $150 or less it is 100% worth it. Pros - Noise cancellation is so strong, sometimes I don't hear my wife when she calls for me. She was the one who bought this for me lol - Sound quality through synapse can be adjusted to your liking, and I can't recommend it without it (kind of a con) - Incredibly comfortable even with glasses. There is a lot of good padding on the head and ears, prior headsets this was always an issue, recently before this I owned a corsair void elite and even that wasn't perfect, but it was close in this category. - Battery life is actually really strong, just be sure to charge it after each usage. I've only ever gotten this to low battery where it beeps at me if I use it for 10-12 hours without charging it. Sometimes thats a long gaming day sometimes thats multiple days. I'm pretty good about keeping things charged, so this isn't a pain point for me, but may be for you. That said you can charge while using it. - Removable microphone, probably not a huge deal for most, but I use these as headphones not a headset. I use an external USB mic for better quality (I'll get into that later). - Ability to use this with 3.5mm port. I wouldn't recommend this without the USB function, as the USB DAC it comes with is decent enough and having used it without it, this is where it fails, but I'm labeling the 3.5mm port as a pro in case you have a multipurpose headset in mind - THX 7.1, now this is just virtual surround sound but in the couple games I have tried, notably monster hunter world, it performs really well, its weird to get used to but its done well enough. Not a huge selling point, you can get this elsewhere, but noted. Cons - Without the USB DAC and synapse you are losing a lot of potential. This thing is really good for sound quality once you configure it, but on it's own it's horrible, this is why I did not get the wired version of the blackshark v2 with just 3.5mm. - Microphone quality isn't great, its honestly worse than most and for $180 it should be a lot better, this is why I use an external mic. Unless you're yelling, your friends will probably say you're quiet. - Intermittent disconnects, unsure if this is a hardware, connection or synapse issue but it happens infrequently it doesn't bother me, but should be noted. - Synapse, I swear I've had issues with every gaming software (ghub, icue, synapse) but recently synapse has been a pain. I love iCUE (or did) but hate corsair software, but if synapse continues to get worse I will look elsewhere for another headset. Overall, if I had to buy this thing again I'd do it for $130 or so. I wouldn't spend $180, I'd just get professional wired headphones, but this thing has a lot going on that it made it worth it to me. I got these for working remotely, the goal was to give myself a more portable option that an XLR condenser mic with a separate USB audio interface and a scissor arm. Something I could tote around with a laptop. The Razer Blackshark V2 delivers. The audio quality on the mic is acceptable with the caveat that I spent hours in the Razer Synapse program tweaking the settings and trying to find some combination of options that I could live with. Now, I think I still sound VERY tinny compared to my more professional dekstop audio setup, but for the price, mobility, and comfort I have found these are capable of producing acceptable microphone audio quality. The biggest problem I ran into is that the mic on the Blackshark V2 doesn't pick up lower tones as clearly as higher ones, and apparently my voice is on the low side. At least I had the option to tweak the settings because before getting the Blackshark V2 I had tried the Razer Kraken V3, and there is no fixing the audio that headset produces. Those were my second Razer product ever and my first Razer headset, I was shocked they put their name on something that shoddy. If Razer hadn't been having a sale that made their products an attractive price at the time I'd never have given their headsets the time of day ever again. The comfort on these is fairly good, nothing extraordinary to me but I usually take meetings and listen to music through audiophile quality headphones and I often put custom earpads on them, so my standards are very high. These certainly exceed what I would normally expect from comfort in a set of headphones at this pricepoint, but I find them to be less comfortable than your average Sennheiser headphones. The cups are a bit more shallow with the default cups and rest closer to my ear than I would like. Replacement pads are at the top of my shopping list for these, though I do like the breathable jersey material on the outside of them. The audio quality is acceptable. I honestly haven't even considered using these to listen to music or play games, and in meetings I have much lower expectations for the audio quality others bring to the table than I do for myself. But at no point has the audio quality jumped out to me as being bad. I ran a quick 3 track audio test just now and they're very bright sounding, which is to say these seem better tuned to produce higher frequencies than lower ones. They don't spark joy in my inner audiophile, but they're not bad either. This is acceptable audio. A sound that I think most people will find agreeable unless they're especially bass hungry. For those of you who are Dankpods fans I can offer an excellent frame of reference, you can barely hear the bongo player going off in Earth, Wind, & Fire's "September" with these. One notable feature that I've not encountered before (because I have gone out of my way to avoid using headsets) but really appreciated is the sidetone. I don't like closed back headphones and stick to open backs unless I'm listening to music in a public place. And I REALLY hate talking with closed backs headphones because I can't hear myself and I feel like I'm yelling. The sidetone option these offer takes in and plays ambient noise back to me so that I can hear myself and the world around me in real time. Tras 9 meses de uso puedo decir que son de los mejores audifonos que existen, son comodos y tienen un buen audio, en cuanto al THX SPATIAL AUDIO no puedo decir que sea la gran cosa porque solo es un filtro de audio que aumenta o disminuye el sonido de los deciveles con el que se escucha y el audio 3D es muy bueno, si bien solo juego CSGO y Minecraft en PC puedo saber todo lo que ocurre. Se logra escuchar una pequeña estatica cuando el sonido de los audifonos esta al minimo en la rueda de los mismos asi como tambien si esta al maximo, por ello recomendaria utilizarlos con la rueda a la mitad a menos de que no puedan subir el volumen de otra manera. Con el tiempo y los meses el bajar y subir las orejeras se vuelve mas ligero y eso no es muy bueno, las almohadillas se gastan con el tiempo y se vuelven mas suaves pero no se da cuenta uno hasta que ve uno que tenga almohadillas nuevas. El microfono solo lo he utilizado en caso de emergencia y se agradece bastante que sea remobible debido a que de esa forma es demasiado facil comer sin ensuciar nada. La bateria si dura aproximadamente las 18 horas que RAZER promete, aunque yo recomendaria cargar los audifonos cada que se pueda y configurarlos para que se apaguen de manera automatica despues de 15 minutos. El software no es necesario usarlo debido a que se guarda en la memoria de los audifonos a no ser de que se quiera utilizar THX SPATIAL AUDIO pero yo no lo recomiendo. La conectividad si es un tema a mejorar debido a que despues de un tiempo los audifonos se empiezan a desconectar automaticamente si no esta colocado el USB en la manera correcta y los audifonos esten cerca, de igual forma se desconecta pero uno se puede acostumbrar con el tiempo. En consola no los he usado demasiado pero funcionan a la perfeccion y los problemas de conectividad desaparecen. Lo unico que si no me agrada en nada es que al conectar los audifonos en otro puerto USB diferente al que se conecto aparecen como otro sistema de audio y se configuran con un 100% de volumen. Esto no desaparece si se coloca un multipuertos. Within the last six months I've spent over 600CAD on headsets for my PC. One of the headsets I returned, I kept the other one [Logitech G ProX?] and spent another 100CAD on a new microphone for it, a Blu mic that was purchasable after the fact. No matter what I did, these headsets were awful. I struggled through this for almost six months before finally giving up and going back to my Blackshark. I immediately started getting compliments on my voice. I bought the newest Blackshark a few days later, this one, plugged it in today and the microphone quality is slightly better. I didn't need to purchase it, but I'm grinding that compliment rep now. I use Equalizer APO with Peace Equalizer installed. I messed with Peace Equalizer to make it perfect for this headset and my god, it sounds amazing. This headset responds really well to an equalizer. I've had people ask me if I do ASMR, telling me my microphone quality is amazing, my voice sounds beautiful. I'm so happy. Maybe out of the box it wouldn't sound as good, but when you run Equalizer APO and Peace as well, the sound quality you can get out of it is amazing. I cannot say the same for other headsets I've used. The Logitech G Pro was awful for mic quality, and so was whatever other headset I tried and returned. They cost more than double the amount of this headset and the mics on them were just awful. This is the headset. It's a good price, a very fair price, the sound quality for music in incredible and very bassy as well. It's also super comfortable. I bent it a bit at the top to make it press less on my ears, and the flexibility of this headset is much better than others. You can bend it to fit any head. Earpads are super comfortable, more comfortable than the last version as well. And the cord for this headset is longer than previous versions, like the one with the green cord is about six inches shorter. It makes it much easier to use the headset, even with those extra few inches. All in all, I won't be buying other headsets anymore. Razer far outshines much more expensive headsets. ♥ Read more
