This is the best dog collar I've purchased - been dog owner for over 30 yrs. With that said, this collar only comes in Med or Large. I ordered Med but honestly would have ordered small if that was an option. I measured the collar my dog was wearing. It measured 14" so i figured this size would work. It was 2" too big and the hardware on this collar has some weight to it. My dog weighs 19 lbs. It was too heavy for my Jack Russell/Chihuahua mix. My stupidity for not measuring my dogs neck. Looks cool, but the buckle could be dangerous, because if one side of the buckle gets pressed in and doesn’t get the pressure released to go back to fully locked, the side tab stays there. Then if the other side gets pressed, it unbuckles.. If a side tab is pressed and sticks, it will go back to a fully locked position once the collar pressure/tightness loosens. Although it might not be super likely, it could happen, especially with an active dog. Notice the two pictures included, one buckle sticks once pushed. That means that if your dog is playing, runs through a bush, and by chance a branch pushes a side buckle tab... if that happens again on the way back through that bush, the collar comes off. The buckle is matte black, looks sleek and cool, and I’ve got the smaller collar size. I don’t know if the larger collar has the same situation, but I assume it is just a larger size of the same buckle, so it’s likely. I confirmed that this issue doesn’t happen with another cobra buckle I have from a dog harness, which is clearly more robust and trustworthy. With that said, I wouldn’t rely on this collar for attaching a leash to it. You might want another collar for a main use collar. I’d recommend that the manufacturer uses a more robust buckle, your dog’s worth it right? The material is light, but seems a bit flimsy. I agree with others that buckle is way too weak. I bought one for one of my older dogs who's younger partner in crime chewed through the old nylon collar. Now she cant bite through the rubber collar but can easily unclasp it off his neck. I'll have to find one with a better/stronger clasp. Read more
