My Audio Technica MX 50 BT's have given me several years of excellent performance. And although I was disappointed at the ear cup starting to breakdown, I wasn't too worried about it as these are my primary headphones for podcasting and have 1000's of hours of use. But because I'm on camera I didn't want the breakdown to be seen by my audience, so I started looking for replacements. And to be honest I wasn't even sure the ear cups were replaceable. But leave it to Amazon, the land where it seems all things are possible to have a wealth of solutions. I landed on these Soulwit replacement ear cups simply because they offered both the ear cups and the headband in brown. And ss that is more my style I thought if i'm going to replace one, I might as well replace them both. Arriving in a small zipper close bag you get two replacement ear cups and one easy to read instruction sheet. Removal of the old cups is as simple as pulling them off. Comparing the quality of materials, I would say the Soulwit leatherette does feel thinner at the edges than the factory original. But it certainly feels supple and is very comfortable when wearing them. Only time will tell if the thinner material has an impact on their longevity. Following the instructions to install the replacement cover on is easy enough, but it does require some manual dexterity and "patience" to get the cup fitted over the speaker. In direct comparison you can see how the factory original cup has been compressed with use, so right now the replacement cups do seem thicker. At least visually. That being said, I would say the speakers now rest closer to my ears, suggesting the foam in them probably isn't as dense as the factory original. But it certainly isn't uncomfortable. Overall I think these replacement ear cups are a solid choice for both repair and upgrading. I love the colour. And they are competitively priced. You could definitely do worse. I'll have to update this review with some long term results, but right now I am exceptionally pleased with them. Read more
