This is a great reef-friendly, skin-friendly sunscreen! It is definitely not greasy or oily like many mineral sunscreens are. It does take a bit of rubbing in for the whiteness to fade, but that’s standard for a mineral sunscreen. It dries down to a texture that’s a bit tacky, as opposed to slick, so if you wear makeup, it applies well over the sunscreen and doesn’t slip around. A little goes a long way, I find! The only downside is that I imagine this product wouldn’t be great with every skin type. If you aren’t pale, you may see a pretty distinct white cast with this, and if you have dry skin, this is likely to emphasize the dryness (again, this is true of most mineral sunscreens unfortunately). If you have darker skin (i.e., if you would never regard yourself as being light or pale), I recommend checking out Blue Lizard sensitive (mineral) sunscreen. It’s greasier so you need a primer or powder when you wear it out on your face, but the white hue isn’t as noticeable, I think!
