It is an adequate egg steamer as it does the job. However, sometimes the egg cracks - usually just a little, but a few times, big enough to cause a mess inside. Not sure if it has anything to do about the quality or age of the eggs as it can happen randomly. It is compact, which is nice. Would have appreciated an alert noise when it's done but the only indication is that the red light goes off. The stainless steel surface leave burn marks if the egg leaks, which is difficult to get rid off, but I don't think it messes the function. The only negative I can mention is that the base cannot be separated from the power cord for cleaning. My first batch of eggs has two eggs crack and spill egg into the base. I had to clean the base which entailed rinsing it. This meant the power-connected part came in contact with water. I did everything I could to prevent the power parts from being hit by water, but there is no way to be certain. Because of this, I deducted one star. The eggs it made on my first attempt were perfectly cooked. That's the whole point of this contraption, and it did the job. I used distilled water (as I'm boiling it away), which I also recommend any user do. The water boiled away and the auto shut off shut the unit off, as it is supposed to do. This is a very good egg cooker. For the price, it was the best I saw. I would purchase it again if I had need of another egg cooker. Read more

Why did I buy it? Our doctor suggested eating boiled eggs every day. But, when trying to boil the eggs on the stove, we faced many problems (a) we needed to turn off at the right time, often we put it on the stove and forget causing the eggs to break (b) at times, eggs were not boiled well, so when we wanted 2, we used to boil 3 eggs to ensure we get 2. What did I like? (a) Ease of use: this perfectly solves all the problems as mentioned above using a stove. It automatically switches off once the eggs are boiled. So, except for 1 or 2 eggs, we all got perfectly cooked eggs. (b) I like the filling cup. Measuring it exactly based on the number of eggs is a bit fun :) Note: I've not tried soft/medium boiling method. So, I'm unsure about them; we always did hard boiling. What did I not like? Not much. But, if I have to pinpoint, it would be the cleaning part. The container gets a little dirty within 3-5 times of using it. So, it's better to clean it regularly. And while cleaning, we need to be careful not to get the wire/plug wet. Do I recommend it to others? Yes. We already got the same product at our parent's home as well. They like it too. Here are a few tips: (a) Even without pinning the egg, they seem to boil well. I did not face problems with white eggs or brown eggs. (b) The vapour will be scorching when this boiler is on. So, better keep it out of reach for kids and place. (c) Don't open the lid immediately after it's done. The eggs will be super hot. Wait a few minutes. If urgent, use a cloth or gloves. Is it worth the price? Yes. Read more
