So it works really great in it's intended purpose. It's very well built and the sealed lid and clasp that holds it shut maintain pressure very well. Like all Stanley products, it's ability to maintain my beer cold is also top notch. I also tested it with hot water (to see how well the insulation work) by filling it with boiling water and leaving it overnight – and upon opening it in the morning it had dropped from 98ºC to 95ºC; so fairly excellent for both purposes. The handle is also large and easy to hold. It says its dishwasher safe (and I'm sure it is) but it's funnelled neck and overall shape means you're unlikely to ever wash it in the dishwasher without risking residue being left in it. That said it's main flaw is that it's 1.9L in volume. Not only is this not a clean 2L, it's also not an obvious amount in UK pints (the local beer measurement where I write this review). I say it's 1.9L, but realistically it's hard to fill with beer to that measure as it's not clearly marked on the interior and of course, pouring a carbonated beer inside will produce foam, and such it's a rough estimate at best. If you go to your local real ale/craft beer shop, I suggest asking for 1.5L or 3 pints, and leaving the rest empty to avoid any issue with the volume measurement (otherwise it's basically impossible to mete 1.9L exactly in there unless you also have a set of scales to hand). Ich liebe meinen Growler. Er ist schön, bekommt eine Menge positiver Aufmerksamkeit, hält den Tee lange heiß, lässt sich gut tragen. Egal ob wir die Kanne zu zweit, dritt oder viert benutzen- endlich genug für alle da. Ich benutze die Kanne sowohl zuhause als auch im Auto, wenn ich länger unterwegs bin. Desweiteren ist es mir wichtig, dass der Deckel innen Metall ist- ich mag Plastik nicht, finde es gibt meist Geruch oder Geschmack ab. Hier ist zwar der Dichtungsring natürlich auch nicht aus Metall, aber damit hat der Inhalt der Kanne aufgrund der geringen Fläche nur wenig Kontakt. Natürlich gibts auch Nachteile- beim Öffnen muss man darauf achten, sich nicht mit dem Austreten Dampf zu verbrennen. Mir gelingt das gut, eine Freundin hat sich beim ersten Mal ein bisschen verbrannt. Und es ist kein Trinkbecher inklusive, wie bei den richtigen Thermoskannen. Mich stört das nicht, ich mag die Becher von den Kannen ohnehin nicht (wegen des Plastiks). Ich würde diese Kanne jederzeit wieder kaufen, ich will sie nicht mehr missen. Per Stanley warranty department: "We do not recommend to put any Carbonated drink for those close lid products that we have. As it may cause damages on the product since it's vacuum sealed and it may cause pressure build up. And it's not covered by our warranty." I was denied the warranty and they closed the ticket immediately without letting me respond. ***UPDATE: A WEEK LATER! Someone from Stanley reached out to me. They requested pictures and product information (again) and processed the warranty return very quickly. New Stanley Growler was shipped out in a week! That was the experience I was expecting from Stanley. Thank you! How did it break? Well there must have been a defect in the lid. It broke pretty easily after a few uses. The lid is plastic and metal, so I'll just be more careful I suppose. If the lid had less/no plastic, 5 STARS for sure. Read more
