I have been using a Theragun for almost a year now -- started out with my husband's G2PRO and then decided to upgrade and buy myself a G3PRO. I use it all the time to help me relax. I find that it really helps with tension in my shoulders and back, especially if I'm in the midst of a really intense work deadline. Using it on my feet is another favorite spot. It takes some practice to figure out ways of holding it to massage your shoulders and back but nothing compares to the feeling of warmth and relaxation after a trigger spot has been massaged by my G3PRO. For those of you who think it's kind of loud, it's something that I have gotten used to over time. But, the G3PRO is actually quieter. In a very weird way, I find the noise soothing but it could be more of a pavlovian thing since the sound in my mind equates to relaxation. I would also recommend putting on some noise cancelling headphones and listening to some binaural beats while you're using it -- if the sound is still bothersome. All in all, I really love the G3PRO. I've also noticed that having my body more relaxed, helps my mind to quiet and relax as well. PS. If you're used to deep tissue massage, you'll get along with the G3PRO really well. Otherwise, I recommend starting on the low setting first with the dampener (softer, round attachment), keep the touch light, and then working your way to the more intense speed/pushing it deeper into the muscle (which feels so much better once you're used to it). Oh, and try to keep it at a 90 degree angle while massaging. PPS. I'm far from an athlete -- I do try to get to the gym regularly (with little success). Picked this up on Black Friday and I was excited but skeptical. All of my skepticism went away as soon as I turned it on for the first time. My back and neck were crazy tight from a long week of traveling and work and all of that went away after about 5 minutes of use. Woke up the following day with less back and neck pain than I have had for years. As I have used it more, I have developed a routine of using it for about 3-4 minutes in the morning right after waking up, 5-7 minutes after working out, and 3-4 minutes before going to bed. My sleep seems deeper and overall I feel a lot better, with less need for NSAIDs for pain. The unit comes with a very premium feeling case that can hold everything you need. It's a bit large to travel with, so i do wish they provided a travel case. The batteries last a long time and are easily swappable when one runs out. This is a great feature as you always have one charged and available when you need it. If I had to criticize the unit, it is a bit louder than I expected. Also, I think a lot of the head attachments do the same thing and are unnecessary, like the big ball and medium ball. Lastly, it's a bit expensive but if you can wait for a deal on the unit I think it's totally worth it. For me, paying a little bit extra for my well-being is worth the temporary dent in the wallet. Ive been shopping around all of these recovery devices for a few days now in hopes of replacing my foam rollers and massage balls. I skate every weekend and run about 12 miles during the week so I’m constantly foam rolling my IT bands and rolling bottoms of my feet on tennis balls etc. Tons of my skate friends have been upgrading to these devices and I have actually tried the old model of this product (g2pro I believe) as well as the hyperice massager. I’ve used both on different occasions for a couple of minutes just warming up. A couple of my friends go with the hyperice model because it’s much quieter than the older version of the Theragun and lots of them live in apartments. But everyone says theragun feels way more powerful. I also did hear that this new theragun was way quieter than the old model which is what made me curious to test it out. It does sound slightly louder than the hyperice but omg, it digs soo much deeper than my friends and doesn’t feel like it’s about to shut down. And it really is not that loud. I live in an old apartment with thin walls so super loud noise was definitely a concern. I turned it on in our living room and had my gf go out the front door into our hallway and she could hardly hear it at all. The construction feels so freakin solid as well. Right out of the box it looks and feels super high end. After spending 15 minutes using it you start to figure out you can grab it in all of these different ways to create leverage and get super deep into spots you didn’t even know were sore. Its insane. Felt wwaayyy better on my board today. As I get older it usually takes me a good 30 minutes to skate around and warm up. Used this thing for 5 minutes and felt like I’d already skated an hour. I literally look forward to getting sore now so I can play with this thing more. Also every kid at the park was asking to use it on their feet and legs haha. This thing is the future! Read more

3/10/20 I have to admit that I came to Theragun after acquiring a less expensive no-name device on the Bay. After my massage therapist used the Hyper massage gun during a cupping session, I knew I wanted something better. This device won over the Hyper b/c: I love my body. 16mm vs NOT 16mm The handle design is genius. It’s perfectly balanced. 6 x rubber attachments (salves...) 2 x batteries Composed of high grade materials Head Pivots I returned the massage gun I acquired on the Bay. Here are my honest thoughts after using the no-name, the Hyper, and now Theragun. I’ll keep it short: The biggest difference I feel is that the Theragun feels like it taps (strikes) the muscle. I did not feel the tapping sensation as much when using the other devices. As I wanted a true percussion, which to me, mimics what my massage therapist does when she’s working a knot. To release knots, she rapidly presses on the knot a few times. The Theragun feels better, and I do not need to work an area as long, or apply as much pressure to feel the effects on knots and tender areas. I will post an update in a few weeks after daily use and putting it in the hands of my massage therapist, to use at my next session. There, I can once again compare the Theragun to its premium competitor device, the Hyper. Lastly, the packaging on this device is high quality, and the carrying case is also constructed of high quality materials. 4/8/20 Update: Due to the current situation, my monthly deep tissue massage appointments have been cancelled. HOWEVER, this device is so effective, I’m doing very well. With local gyms closed, I’ve had to dig into my bag of tricks that have been collecting dust since my military days when HIIT and regular runs composed my daily exercise regime. I’ve dusted off the kettlebells, Rogue weighted medicine ball (used for Wall Ball shots), 50 lbs dumbbell, and speed rope. I also recently made a 150 lbs sandbag out of an old Army issue duffle bag. All this made me realize how much I enjoy exercising outside, it’s such a joy. That said, this device has been heavenly. Yesterday’s workout included a 1 mile run followed by 400 double unders. After, I could feel my lower body respond to that activity; it was tight. I used the Theragun on both legs for a few minutes on each section and all the tightness dissipated.
