Despúes de 9 meses de haberlos adquirido (DIC), estas son mis impresiones de estos tenis: 1.- Verdaderamente COMODOS, sobre todo en el Talon. Un poco mas que la versión 4 (anterior). 2.- Se sienten resistentes en la construcción, mas en el Upper. Algo reducido pero sin molestar. 3.- Ajuste bien de las cintas (Sistema Grip), no aprieta, conserva el ajuste deseado. 4.- 3 carreras en Trail de 8, 13 y 33 KM, 15 y 21K, usados SIN NINGUN PROBLEMA. Eso si, no son muy ligeros, mas si se mojan. Ritmos de carrera de 4:55 en adelante. COMO DETALLE, NO SON TOTALMENTE CONTRA EL AGUA, OJO, NO SE DEJEN LLEVAR. SE TE MOJAN Y PUNTO, ESTARAS ENCHARCADO HASTA QUE SEQUEN, NO ES MUY EFICIENTE EL DRENAJE EN ESTE MODELO. I purchased the Salomon Speedcross 5 from Amazon, expecting the Gore-Tex (GTX) model, as clearly stated in the product title and description. However, what I received was the non-GTX version—despite paying the higher price for the GTX model. This was extremely frustrating, and I honestly felt cheated by the seller. Why I Still Kept Them: Despite my disappointment, I decided to keep the shoes because I genuinely love the Salomon Speedcross range. I previously owned a Speedcross 2 or 3 and always appreciated the Quicklace system for its convenience. While I could have returned them, I just couldn’t let go of the overall quality and comfort of this pair. Fit & Comfort: The fit is snug, much narrower than I usually prefer. My normal size is EU 44 or 44.5, but I had to size up to 45.5 to accommodate the tight fit. Even though it’s narrow, the comfort level is excellent, and it doesn’t hurt my feet. Performance & Features: ✅ Aggressive lugs for top-notch grip on rough terrains. ✅ Sock-like upper to keep dust and debris out—great for trails. ✅ Ortholite inner pad provides excellent cushioning and support. ✅ Classy design—I compared Speedcross 5 and 6 and preferred the more refined look of the Speedcross 5 over the trendier Speedcross 6. Final Thoughts: I’m still mad that I paid for the GTX model but got the non-GTX version at a higher price, and Amazon hasn’t corrected the listing. This kind of misleading information is unacceptable, as many customers would simply return the product. That said, the shoe itself is fantastic, and since Salomon is my favorite brand, I’m keeping them for the next couple of years. Ok, so I bought these, so no free chicken here. I have size 11, wide / flat feet with a tendency to roll ankles & experience the dreaded guitar-string arch-fall. This has occurred my whole life, mind you. I’ve struggled to find good shoes / hiking boots. A few years back I grabbed a set of these on a whim (ok, desperation) after my Asolo GTX hiking boots rubbed my heels raw for the umpteenth time (also, did I mention I have Achilles bone spurs? They’re on my heel bone & curve to poke my Achilles tendon—convenient, amirite?)… I had to flex to my military combat boots to finish my elk hunt (Lowa Zephyrs). I resolve to find better / lighter footwear after the hunt. So I snag these things and yep.. they feel tight & narrow, just like the reviews. I stick with em. No blisters. No Achilles tendinitis / discomfort from the spurs. Just a bit of “dang these are tight” for the first few weeks. After a few weeks, I take these suckers up the Moanalua hike in Oahu. Yes, this is the legal way to the radar site of the “Stairway to Heaven” fame. A serious day hike for committed hikers. Zero probs. You’re Spider-Man in these things. Afterwards, I was smoked, but no foot problems. A week later, we do it again. No probs. Again. I watched my buddies in “normal shoes” eat it on slick mud / roots, etc. No probs for these, the BFG MTRs for your feet. So if you’re like me, big hobbit feet & in your 40s with sufficient gumption and income to absorb the cost of a failed footwear purchase or a willingness to take on the Amazon AI returns bot, you have nothing to lose by trying them. This is my third pair. I put em on.. said “dang these are tight” and stepped it out for 6 miles. They’ll loosen up! Still zero blisters. Zero spur probs. Zero tendonitis. I’m convinced these are the BEST SHOES MADE (that I’ve found). The tread will wear quicker than your average gym shoe… but the treads are super aggressive trail lugs… if you’re a townie speed walking concrete, you’ll rub the nubs off quick! Keep these to the trail & they’ll last you a good amount of time. And let’s be honest—the looks and the laces.. are fire! Initial reviews are cool and the gang, but 6 years of Bigfoot slinging lugs in mountainous terrain might be useful for the buyer on the fence. Be patient & step it out. Read more
