Bought 2 of these for my T’ai chi classes & encountered the same problem with BOTH….namely, the sword does not retract easily & gets “stuck” at the last section. Therefore, the convenient carrying case can’t be used! It also has a tendency to “retract” when making some of the moves in my T’ai chi routine….laughable, but not conducive to “mindfulness.” Would appreciate any suggestions on a product to use to improve the expansion & retraction of this practice sword. Unfortunately, it can retract whilst going thru the set. You must actually flick or pull to extend , then give it a final tug to try to lock it out. Read more

Nice weight and look to the sword. Balance point was in the right spot. Just be careful extending it. If there is too much force, the last two segments of the sword will get stuck and won't collapse. I had to take a rubber mallet to mine to close it. Read more
