Mein bisheriger Kenntnisstand: ich trinke gerne guten Kaffee und kann guten von schlechtem Kaffee unterscheiden. Bin aber kein Barista oder habe Kaffeebrühen studiert. Ich habe bisher meinen Espresso mit einem simplen Vollautomaten gemacht und war so mittel begeistert davon. Da wir viel unterwegs sind, campen und Boot fahren, wollte ich diese Maschine für unterwegs mal ausprobieren. Nachdem ich am ersten Nachmittag vier verschiedene Espresso probiert habe, konnte ich bis morgens um 3 Uhr Farben hören und zu Fuß Autos auf der Autobahn überholen, was erstmal weniger über den Geschmack des Kaffees aussagt. Die Erkenntnis dieses experimentellen Nachmittages war in jedem Fall, dass der Kaffee aus der Wacaco Nanopresso und die Handhabung folgendermaßen zu bewerten ist: Kapseln- je nach Kapselsorte guter Geschmack, aber sehr mühsam und langsam zu pumpen. Es ist ein deutlich höherer Druck erforderlich, um das Wasser durch die Kapsel zu bekommen. Probleme mit dem anstechen gab es aber nicht, wie sie hier manchmal beschrieben wurden. Bisher auch nicht mit Kapseln anderer Hersteller, als die originalen. Pulver- Ich hatte anfangs bedenken, da mich das ganze Drumherum der ganzen Kaffeeprofessoren mit den Feinwagen und anderen speziellen Techniken verunsichert hatte, ob die Zubereitung mit Pulver zu kompliziert werden könnte. Da man dazu diesen praktischen Pulverlöffel bekommt, der gleichzeitig zum andrücken des Pulvers genutzt werden kann/sollte, ist das ganze eigentlich kinderleicht. Man kann Sieb und Löffel passgenau aufeinander stecken, damit beim umfüllen kein Krümel daneben geht und schon hat man ganz sauber und einfach das Pulver eingefüllt. Das Wasser lässt sich in dem Fall auch im Vergleich zu den Kapseln einfach durch das Pulver pumpen und als Lohn erhält man einen sehr guten Espresso oder mit etwas mehr Wasser im Tank auch einen doppelten. Zur Temperatur: Ja, wenn man es falsch macht, erhält man nur lauwarmen Espresso. Aber wenn man ganz heißes Wasser einfüllt und am besten noch die Tasse mit einem kleinen Schluck heißen Wassers vorwärmt, wird es alles heiß genug. Genau das richtige für unterwegs, im Camper, im Zelt, auf der Arbeit oder eben auf dem Boot. Die Qualität der Maschine erscheint erstmal sehr wertig und gut. Negative Langzeiterfahrungen würde ich später anfügen, wenn es denn welche gibt. Bisher bin ich guter Dinge, dass der Apparillo noch lange hält. Read more

Have just returned from a weekend camp where this little gadget met my coffee need. The espresso produced through pumping boiled water through the system had a fabulous crema and gave as smooth a drink to the tongue as one might dream of. The Nespresso adapter made it easy and quick, and I hadn’t expected there to be a bag with it but that’s a bonus to keep things together, and clean. Its small size dropped easily in to my rucksack, though you do need a stove or flask of boiling hot water. The choice of ground or pod gives great flexibility in coffee choice. It works well, looks good, and I didn’t have any issues at all. With Nespresso adapter fitted the unit fits in the main bag. Don’t forget there’s a cup that pulls off the water tank which I failed to see on making my first drink- shown in the picture. Pumping away the unit pressured well with no leaks. I purchased the Nanopresso bundled with the Nespresso Adapter. I then purchased separately the barista kit. Through the recommendation of another reviewer, I also purchased the Zwilling Sorrento double wall glasses. Perfect for espresso and the case that's molded for the nanopresso. I recommend that but it all adds up... My situation is that I work overseas and in rougher environments. I do a lot of traveling so that's how I justify this to myself. My goal is to be able to make decent coffee on the go with little fuss and this coffee kit does this really really well. At first I found it to be just a bit intimidating with all parts that I wound up with, but you figure it out. There are youtube videos that explain how to set it up. The first time I pumped it, It was a little awkward but you get used to it. For something that's not powered this is pretty cool. You just need some hot water. I've read other reviews and a concern was the water leaking or maybe it wasn't screwed on well. I didn't have that issue with my device. You just have to make sure you screw everything on correctly. So after the first espresso, using the Nespresso adapter, i saw the crema form and the taste was great! I realized then that if it holds up, this can be an everyday solution and so far, it really has been. I not only use this everyday, but I haven't used my coffee pot or any other coffee device since I've purchased this. I drink like 4 cups a day. Now I'm not a supreme coffee aficionado. I went into this with middle of the road expectations half wondering if I may have wasted my money because some may say its pricey gadget but so far, this device has really performed well and especially when I think about how small and convenient this is and again, it's non-powered. This is a very cool solution. If you are on the road. No mess. No fuss. Easy to maintain. I think it's engineered very well. Its durable made out of this hard plastic. Very solid. I carry it with me in my backpack that's like a portable locker for me that I half live out of. So this thing is EDC for me. It's just so nice to be able to breakout coffee whenever and wherever I want. The other aspect I enjoy is that this nanopresso saves me from using shared spaces like breakrooms and just running into who dunnit cleanup situations with coworkers. If you want to get away from sharing things with others especially with the concern of viruses, germs and what not. I say consider this device. Avoid the breakrooms or getting stuck in traffic trying to do a coffee run in the middle of your work day. Overall its a really nice coffee solution if your okay with the price. Enjoy. Read more

I’ve been saving this in my cart for almost a year now. With several upcoming short and long trips, I finally decided to buy it to see if it was worth the money and carryon real estate. Now I wish I had bought it sooner. I reviewed this using Original Line Nespresso pods, which I plan to take with me (for convenience) on travel. I tested it 3 times. Pros: it is compact, (somewhat) light, and fits in a handy drawstring carry bag. It easily fits in a backpack or carryon suitcase. It comes with an Original Line Nespresso pod adapter (but careful—-see “con” below) as well as an adapter, a cup, and a measuring spoon for regular grounds. It works on human power, bike-pump style, not electricity or batteries, which means it can be used literally anywhere. I used both thumbs and about 15-20 good presses. It makes rich espresso, albeit not as “crem-ey” as a regular espresso machine. Cons: I marked it down a half point as it is more like a 4.5/5. Be careful of 3 things. First, after using, when removing the used Nespresso pod, be sure to unscrew only the extractor adapter top lid, not the silver metal ring below the pod. The adapter is what holds the pod in place to better extract the coffee. Do not dump it into the trash by mistake. Like I did :-p 😅!!!! Second, screw the water and pod adapter lids extra tight. Water leakage is possible during pumping, which can result in burns. Finally, if you use this for backpacking, or are really mindful of weight, it is solid (not flimsy, which is good; but it does have a bit of heft). But true coffee addicts will likely sacrifice other weighty items to keep their coffee ritual intact!!!! Neutral: you must provide your own boiling water. Usually you get (or can easily find) boiling water wherever you go. My thinking is, if it provided that feature, it would likely require some kind of electrical heating element, which would add weight, so I do not personally view that as a negative. All said, it is nice to know that I will never again go without my Nespresso or good coffee, whether I’m visiting friends or staying at some random hotel on business or holiday. A must for traveling coffee addicts. Update: Tried it on a recent road trip (in an area notorious for bad coffee). Worked like a charm. Love that requires no batteries or electricity and that the process is intuitive. Nespresso-espresso smells and tastes delicious after extracted from the devise. It looks and feel rugged, and therefore may be durable. With the NScapsule adapter, it’s easier to use and clean up. It produces good coffee with crema. However, the volume is quite small. You may therefore need to buy the bigger cup. Also, if you like your coffee steaming, then you would be disappointed as the coffee cools very quickly once you are done with the pumping action.
