Motion Platform V3(購入時308,936円)とNext Level Racin純正品の レーシングシート Seat Add On for Wheel Stand リクライニング機能 NLR-S003(購入時50,645円)も併せて昨年の７月に購入し、約半年が経過しました。 当時は倉庫在庫品でしたので注文の翌日には手元に届きました。現在は在庫切れの様です。購入目的はXPLANE11にてフライトシュミレータを楽しむ為です。 組み立ては至って簡単ですが、PlatformとSeatの取付穴が微妙に合わず若干のヤスリ掛けで穴を広げてボルト固定を完了しました。マニュアル類は総て英文の為、最新のマニュアルをサイトよりダウンロードし、グーグル翻訳の助けを借りて総て日本語にし製本、自分なりに読み込み何とか独力にて設定、パラメーターをチューニングしています。 日本の販売店の方はとても親切でしたが、フライトシュミレータ関係には全く知見が無く、試行錯誤での設定です。現在はメインディスプレイは３画面、ガーミンのGNS430とGNS530を合わせ計器類のモニターは5画面の計8画面にて運用しています。なおPC以外の機材は総てAmazonにて入手しました。特別な施設でのシュミレータが自宅の居室で再現出来、とても満足しています。 なお私が動作確認したのはFlight Simulator X、Microsoft Flight Simulator 2020、Prepar3D、X-Plane 10、X-Plane 11です。 Read more

I've enjoyed racing simulators for many years, after a short-lived amateur career in shifter karts and Formula Fords. The simulators scratch my itch for speed and thrills at a fraction of the cost. I've always wanted to purchase a full motion platform, but the really good stuff was well into the 5-digits in cost. Along comes the Next Level Racing under-seat units, and I did a bit of research before diving in and purchasing this unit. The first big decision is seat mover vs. whole platform. Like many, I first thought that seat movers were inferior. Honestly, I was wrong. The trick to motion simulators is fooling your body into feeling the forces of actual racing. This is more than just g-forces in corners. It's engine revs, road feel, bumper strips, cobbles, surge, sway, and many, many others. And here's the secret: you need to feel the FORCE. A seat mover in many ways is superior in this respect to a full-motion simulator. If you'll excuse some basic physics, I'll illustrate why *speed* of the simulator is more important than range of motion. Sir Newton tells us force=mass x accleration. This works in 2 ways with a motion simulator. First, to really accelerate something to impart a force, you want to move as little additional mass as possible. A seat-mover just does this. It moves you and a relatively light seat, that's it. Full motion platforms move a lot more, much more. So they need bigger actuators, more room, and more $$$. The second part that matters is the actual speed of the actuators themselves. Far more imporant than range of motion is the acceleration of the platform itself. And the Next Level Racing v3 is FAST. Uber-fast. It can really jolt you around, much more than you'd think just looking at the videos. The actuators are very quick, giving sharp impulses when needed, and they update at ridiculous speeds, too (>400 times/s). This means fine movement and vibration is well simulated, including engine revs, road imperfections, cobble strips, etc. The v3 works brilliantly. I added the V3 to my RSeat RS-1 racing rig, using Next Level Racing supplied adapter plates. In addition to the motion platform, I run a Fanatec Wheel and Pedals, and can go either triple-40" monitors or Oculus VR. Took me about a day to get everything hooked up and working. One tip: the serial number is on the bottom of the unit. Write this down/take a picture of the name tag, as you'll need it when downloading the software from NLR. Once installed, it will be very hard to read that serial number. Now, here's the headline: motion + VR is MIND BLOWING. This is it folks. The point where virtual simulation stimulates enough of your senses to fool your brain into thinking you're doing the real thing. The motion sensation in VR is absolutely jaw-dropping. Project Cars in an open wheel series is the closest I've come in a simulation to reality. A little motion goes a long way, and the motion platform does far more than just track g-forces. It simulates engine revs, road texture, siding strips, bumps, just about everything. I found I had to dial-down the settings from stock. The amount of motion needed to trick your brain in VR is much less than what you see in the factory videos. The manufacturers want to sell you on wild movements in the videos, but that's much to much in practice. Dial back the amplitude of the motion, and let the ultra-fast actuators provide impulses and g-forces to your body that really does a fabulous job of mimicking the real thing. Beyond the bread-and-butter racing simulators, I've found the V3 excels for flight and (especially) roller coaster simulators! Here, in addition to the short vibrations and shocks from the track, you want to simulate the overall g-feeling of coasters. To do this, the platfrom moves a much larger amplitude, to change the position of your body with respect to gravity. And it works! In No Limits Coaster 2, I honestly feel like I'm on the rides, when used with the Oculus Rift. Here, the motion platform tilts the chair quite a bit, and it works brilliantly! Previously, I would get motion sick in the coaster simulators. With the motion platform, your body feels what your eyes see, and I haven't gotten any nausea at all since installing the V3. The Coaster Simulation is another great way to introduce your friends to VR/Motion Platforms as well. Overall, I'm thrilled with the v3 motion platform. It's not cheap, but compared to other alternatives, the $3k entry point is a bargain compared to other high-end solutions. You really do have to try this to appreciate it. This is a new standard in simulators accessible to the dedicated home user and enthusiast. With a good racing chair, wheel, pedals, VR, and the PC to drive it all, you can scratch all your racing itches and never buy a set of tires again. Lange zögerte ich, in eine Motion Platform zu investieren - das bislang teuerste Zubehörteil meines Homesimulators. Für alle, denen es genauso geht, hier eine kurze Zusammenfassung meiner Überlegungen und Erfahrungen damit. Die Motion Platform v3 ist mit 3.000-3.500 EUR recht teuer, jedoch im Bereich der Bewegungsplatformen im Einstiegssegment. Es handelt sich um eine 2 DOF (Degree of Freedom, Freiheitsgrade)-Plattform, die Bewegungen als Neigung rechts/links und vorwärts/rückwärts simulieren kann, aber nicht hoch/runter (das wäre der dritte Freiheitsgrad). Weiterhin handelt es sich um einen „Seat Mover“, bewegt also nur den Pilotensitz, nicht aber Steuerhorn, Pedale, Throttle. Ich befürchtete, die wäre ein Nachteil, z.B. unrealistische Bewegungen beim abbremsen des Flugzeugs, wenn man sich plötzlich mit dem Sitz auf das Steuerhorn zubewegt. Doch das ist keineswegs der Fall. Es geht gar nicht darum, das ganze Cockpit zu bewegen (solche Lösungen gibt es auch, die sind jedoch deutlich teuerer, brauchen mehr Platz und sind aufgrund der größeren zu bewegenden Masse auch träger). Es handelt sich bei der Motion Platform v3 um ein „motion cueing system“, das Bewegungen andeutet und so - vor allem in VR - die Immersion wirklich beträchtlich steigert. Denn auch in einem echten Cockpit ist es ja so, dass man beim Abbremsen aufgrund der eigenen Körperträgheit nach vorn kippt, sich also auf das Steuerhorn zubewegt. Und dieses Gefühl vermittelt diese Motion Platform sehr, sehr gut. Das Gerät selbst ist sehr solide, schwer, zuverlässig und die Software gut ausgereift - nach dem Haptic Pad H8 von NLR hatte ich schlimme Befürchtungen, was den Support angeht, doch die Software, die NLR für diese Platform bereitstellt, funktioniert absolut schmerzfrei und hat ein gutes Ausgangsprofil für MSFS 2020, welches sich gut anpassen lässt. Ich habe die Bewegungen insgesamt heruntergeschraubt, es geht mir nicht darum, druchgeschüttelt zu werden, wie zahlreiche YouTube-Videos auch erklären: weniger ist hier mehr. Jedoch habe ich die Linearität so geändert, dass kleine Bewegungen stärkere Auslenkung hervorrufen und die Auslenkungen mit steigender Magnitude des Effekts unterproportional steigt. Für mich funktioniert das in VR hervorragend. Beim Rollen auf der Startbahn spürt man das stärker werdenden Vibrieren des Flugzeugs, so lange die Räder Bodenkontakt haben, welches schlagartig endet, sobald die Räder in der Luft sind. Die Platform neigt sich leicht nach hinten, man hat das Gefühl, beim Abheben in den Sitz gedrückt zu werden und in VR „geht es wirklich nach oben“ mit dem Flugzeug. Man spürt beim Einlenken die Neigung des Flugzeugs nach links und rechts. Insbesondere im Landeanflug spürt man das Hin- und Herwackeln der Maschine bei kleinen Korrekturen, während man gegen Seitenwind kämpft und die Maschine auf die Mittelline der Landebahn zusteuert. Man spürt das Aufsetzen sehr deutlich - insbesondere, wenn man z.B. mit einem Rad zuerst und etwas härter aufsetzt oder bei Seitenwindanflügen gleich nach dem Aufsetzen hart das Ruder betätigt. Ebenso das Rütteln der Räder auf der Landebahn, welches in Vibrationsstärke abnimmt, je langsamer die Maschine wird und das Nicken des Flugzeugs nach vorn, wenn man in die Bremsen tritt. Für mich steigert die Platform in Verbindung mit VR die Immersion unglaublich. Ich habe auch und zusätzlich das Haptic Feedback Pad HF8 von NLR, hatte ich schon zuvor, braucht man jedoch nicht mehr, wenn man die Motion Platform v3 benutzt. Jedem, der sie sich leisten kann und möchte, kann ich es wirklich sehr empfehlen, ich bedauere ehrlich gesagt, dass ich so lange mit der Anschaffung gezögert habe. Da ich den Flight Seat Pro und Flight Stand Pro von NLR in Kombination verwende, war die Installation der Platform eine Angelegenheit von 20min. Genaue Bohrungen, die perfekt zur Platform passen, maßgeschneidert und grundsolide. Diese drei Produkte in Kombination sind - trotz des hohen Anschaffungspreises - meiner Ansicht nach den Preis voll und ganz wert. Die Motion Platform v3 ist schon seit etlichen Jahren auf dem Markt und wirklich ausgereift - sie wird denke ich auch viele Grafikkartengenerationen kein Update mehr erfordern. Die Platform selbst ist bei Bewegungen quasi lautlos, allerdings ist der Lüfter deutlich hörbar und bei Initialisierung gibt sie ein klickendes Geräusch von sich. Wenn die Simulation stockt -z.B. durch geringe Framerate in der Nähe großer Verkehrsflughäfen oder wenn Grafikdetails nachgeladen und gerendert werden, man also auch in VR sieht, dass das Bild stockt und aussetzt - dann bekommt die Plattform natürlich auch keine flüssigen Telemetriedaten. Sie setzt dann aus, wartet, bis die Simulation wieder stabil flüssig Daten liefert, initalisiert sich neu (besagtes Klicken) und weiter geht‘s. Die Platform erhöht die Sitzposition um einige Zentimeter, man muss also die position von Yoke, Throttle, Pedalen höher einstellen, was zumindest für mich (1,90m lang) kein Problem mit NLRs Flightsim Pro Stand & Seat war. Besonders hervorzuheben ist noch die VR-Bewegungskorrektur, die die Software automatisiert und sehr gut übernimmt. Hierbei geht es darum, dass die VR Software ja nicht auseinanderhalten kann, ob eine Bewegung vom Spieler kommt, der den Kopf neigt, oder daher, dass die Plattform den Spieler bewegt. Ohne diese Korrektur, würde sich das Gesichtsfeld ändern, wenn man eine Kurve fliegt, auch wenn man sich nicht bewegt, was unrealistisch ist und Schwindel hervorrufen kann. Wie stark die Bewegung ist, hängt von der Sitzposition des Spielers ab - je größer er ist, desto stärker die Änderung. In älteren Versionen der Software musste man diesen Abstand messen und eingeben. Die aktuelle Version ist deutlich verbessert, die VR Korrektur wird automatisch gemessen und berücksichtigt. Hierzu löst man diese Kalibrierung aus (habe das auf einen Knopf an meinem Yoke gelegt). Man hört eine Ansage, dass man den Kopf an die Rückenlehne des Sitzes pressen und nicht bewegen soll. Dann neigt sich der Sitz nach hinten, nach links, nach rechts und zurück in die Mitte. Das ganze dauert knapp 30 Sekunden, dann erfolgt eine Ansage, dass die Kalibrierung abgeschlossen ist. Meiner Erfahrung nach funktioniert das perfekt, ich hatte keinerlei unerwartete Verschiebungen des Gesichtsfeld (HP Reverb G2, NVidia RTX 3090), was ich einigermaßen beeindruckend finde, da man ja meist eine Überlagerung von Bewegungen ausführt, d.h. Der Sitz neigt sich nach rechts und links im Landeanflug, während man die Flugbahn korrigiert und gleichzeitig dreht man ständig den Kopf, um Instrumente abzulesen, auf die Landebahn zu schauen - es funktioniert wirklich schockierend gut.
