Installed these on my 2010 Chevy Cobalt today. Install went fairly smoothly for a noon, although I did have some help from a pro lol. But it's rather simple, pop the doors off, rip out the old speaker, these come with a mounting bracket that I was able to use, rather than cutting out the old speaker and using the old bracket. This bracket fit fine, although 2 holes were required to be drilled on each door. Sound quality is amazing, full sound, produces some deep base that you can feel in the door. Pretty impressive for the price. Would highly recommend for a simple upgrade on the front speakers. Read more

Easy to install much better than the stock Dash speakers in my 03/04 Saab 9-3 Aero. I chose to solder them in but there are various methods. Surprised at the level of bass from these as the amount of bass directed to front/rear in my car is minimal - The door speakers in the 9-3 are woofers and receive the majority of the low-end work whereas the parcel shelf and dash receive highs and mids. They max out without any distortion or loss of clarity, this is not surprising given the use of the stock amplifier which is fairly weak but combined with these speakers it does an excellent job. I have also ordered some 4-inch ones for the rear parcel shelf. May have to install a sub to replace the door speakers as these are genuinely not bad at producing bass for basic 6.5-inch door speakers but they struggle at the top end. Read more

I really love these!!! I’m not gonna lie. I really really love these. But you have to break them in. Because when you first put them in to replace your factory speakers. You are going to hear that they are brand new. When you first put them in. Don’t expect exploding bass and really really deep lows. It will be around a month of use before you can really hear the 40Hz of sound and 35Hz. Even though it’s rated at 50Hz you just have to play the right song to hear those lows. Its not too good with mids. But it gets the job done. But the highs. Like wow! Its super super clear!!! Its connected to my factory 2011 Chevy Impala radio with no amp. Just directly connected. And its super clearer. Definitely a big upgrade than the factory paper cardboard cone woofers. Trust me. Send the extra 20 to 10 dollars to get these. I would definitely recommend JBL 6X9 speakers. DO NOT GET THE CHEAP LOOKING VERSION. It will leave you with a bad impression. But I learned that you need to break in speakers. And to not be bumping the crap out of them brand new. Just take your time. And you’ll be enjoying your factory radio in no time. Read more

The OEM Panasonic speakers (tweeters) on the front dash of my 2022 Toyota RAV4 Prime are very cheap and the sound quality isn't very good. The JBL Club 3020 speakers improved both the higher frequency sounds as well as boosting the bass. Since my SE model has the OEM sound system (no JBL premium system available) there is no subwoofer and these help to compensate for that. Also these speakers are closest to the driver and provide most of the sound heard. The procedure to replace the speakers was very easy and did not take a long time. I used the Red Wolf wiring harness (which has reversed polarity BTW and has to have the wires cut and reversed) and other than that were easy to clip on. These are the only 6x9 components I could find for my 2017 Ford F150. Sound is amazing as expected from JBL. I just wish they included 2 pairs of passive crossovers so I don't have to reroute all the wiring. I bought some aftermarket passive crossovers to overcome this and they work perfect. Installed aftermarket crossovers for the highs and OEM for 6x9's. There was some minor fabrication to get it installed which was expected, but I actually found a perfect way to install them flush for both the tweeter mount and 6x9 without having to do further fabricating. For the tweeters, do not discard the OEM mounting bracket. There is a way to remove the OEM tweeter from the mounting bracket housing so that all you have to do is pop in the JBL tweeters for a perfect fit with OEM mounting bracket. All you need to do is heat up the OEM tweeter that is housed inside the mounting bracket, then carefully pull apart the 3 pieces of the housing. You'll see exactly what I'm talking about once you remove the OEM bracket and tweeter. The JBL tweeter fits perfectly inside the OEM bracket. I didn't even have to glue anything. For the 6x9, do not discard the plastic sleeve/housing for the OEM 6x9. What you need to do is cut off all the "legs" and remove the backing section. Keep the main sleeve that mounts flush to the 6x9 and discard the rest. Trim the sleeve until you can get the JBL 6x9 to sit inside and flush with the sleeve. I used hot glue to seal the speaker to the newly modified sleeve. Then it's simply a matter of mounting the sleeve back to the door with the original screws. Read more
