At first I was disappointed with these things. I thought people must be placebo effecting these things to work because I was not feeling any different. First couple days on these and I started smoking again. I was really upset and wanted my money back. Now Ive been on them for more than a week and they are really working nicely. I hardly think about smoking. It's actually really funny because I literally never really think about when my next cig is going to be. I get a craving here and there but it usually goes away in less than a min. Im not a heavy smoker though so I cant really speak for those who are. I dont know how well it would work for really heavy smokers. Occasionally where my patch is it will get a little itchy. As for sticking all day, kind of. I can't tell if this works. It doesn't give you any satisfaction. There are no surges of nicotine that you can feel. I am taking it because I am so addicted to nicotine gum. It's been two weeks since I have been wearing it and I haven't had one piece of gum and the cravings aren't too bad so it must be working. I have no problem with the adhesive. Lots of patches just don’t stay on your skin. These do! They withstand sweat better than any other brand I’ve tried. Even the N brand- these are better. Just don’t try to use on top of moisturizers. These are just as effective as the more expensive N brand too. If you’re serious about quitting, they really help. I recommend putting the first one on before bed the night before quit day. I took shower and shaved the hair off the area f my upper arm and dried it well. I placed patch on an hour later while cleaning the kitchen floor I saw the patch on the floor. So what I did is took a strip of white tape made by 3M. It is used in hospitals to hold IV tubing in place in place and used that to hold the patch on all day. Since the patch is so cheap compared to other brands that's what I suggest you do to save money. The reason the patch does not stay on is the part of the patch the holds the adhesion is not WIDE enough to hold the patch in place. I say the tape is 1.5 wide and it is not costly. I thought Id never quit..I quit for 2 years long ago but then a personal devastation made me pick it up again. I tried Chantix but had terrible nightmares almost every night...I hated going to sleep. I had part of a lung removed 3 months ago and got started on a patch at the hospital. I knew that I didn't want to be one of "those people" who smokes while using oxygen so I tried these when I got home. (I had stage 1 cancer and felt very blessed that it wasn't worse..don't need oxygen at all). I have been using these and they have made an amazing difference!! Update one: it’s day 7 and I have no cravings. Day 6 I forgot to put on the patch and still had no cravings, but put it in for day 7 anyway and will continue. The patches have started to irritate my skin, but it’s not too bad and it’s a small price to pay so I am still rating this 5 stars. I will update my review eventually, but I had to come and write how well it is working so far. I’ve been a pack a day smoker for about 9 years. I’m on day 4 of wearing the patch and I have absolutely no desire to smoke. The first day was the worst but still manageable; and every day since has gotten better. I put it on when I wake up at 5 am and take it off before I go to bed around 8 pm to avoid the crazy dreams people talk about. I put it in a different spot every time to avoid irritation, which I haven’t had any of so far. I will just cycle through the same 4-5 spots. (On my sides and stomach) I have no issues with the patch sticking. I’m SO shocked that this is working so well.
