This cajon is the wooden acoustic percussion instrument you sit on and play with your hands (pronounced "kah-hone"). It’s sometimes called a beatbox or box drum. The Meinl Percussion Compact Jam Cajon with snares is made in Europe with 100% Baltic birch. Baltic birch has a full, resonant bass note and warm tone. This wood species is also used in high-end drum set construction for players serious about sound. Inside are two sets of coiled steel snare wires fitted against the playing surface. These are the same type of snares found on snare drums, and they give you a crisp tone. A sound port on the rear helps develop bass notes and is a perfect microphone spot. Non-slip silicone feet allow the body to resonate to its fullest while providing stability.
