I own several microphones, both XLR & USB and I must say my search for a versatile yet great sounding USB microphone ends here!! Rode has done a fantastic job with the build quality, sound quality, versatility, ease of use & just everything with this microphone, the previous NT USB was a bit bright for my preference & though this one seems to have a little overwhelming low-mid range (depending on your voice) it can still be managed with a 75 or 150 hz High Pass Filter via Rode Central, the best part? You can now save your settings to the microphone & no matter how many devices you use it on, the settings are preserved. This microphone can also be used with Rodecaster Pro or Duo making it just a powerhouse performer. Although this is on a little costlier side but I feel it is worth every penny! This mic rivals my Lewitt XLR mics (with a Motu M2). It's really nice to just have something that records with such high quality that can be plugged in - in just a matter of 2 seconds via USB C. Absolutely amazing for my voice-overs. The Rode Central software is super easy and plun n' go. I'm not a big fan of the aural and big bottom exciters, but the compressor and high pass filter are top-notch. They work at the same time I'm recording using Audacity which is a huge plus. All metal design made in Australia (yes, not China) 24bit 48khz sample rate recording (you don't need more than that) driverless (as far as I am aware) USB C cable is firm and heavy Pop filter get's the job done stand is nice lights up a blue LED on the side that records sound (looks nice) super low noise and high gain (pretty impressive for USB actually) Mid-range is the sweetest I have ever heard for a mic (perfect for voice) I have no complaints. My mic came in damage free, so I am not sure what happened to the other reviewers mics. Not fair to give it 1 star, though. This mic screams quality outside in. The fact that Rode makes this mic in Australia tells me that they are really proud of it, and I can see why. The sound quality is on par with what I would expect from Rose. The mic is solid and really well built. The usb-c cable is crazy long and high quality as well. My desktop stand from Gator has trouble with the weight of it so had to order a boom arm. The software is simple enough to understand. It works with most of the Rode software but I decided on using Rode Unity. My room isn’t sound treated but it picks up very little background noise and what it does pick up is easy to filter out in Resolve. Read more
