NO Xplode has a long history of being the category leader in pre-workout formula's. The original, let's call it N.O. 1.0 was simply an awesome product. Very few people would say it didn't work for them, and so many did enjoy it that you could find it sold as a single serve option at certain gyms. A few years ago the scientists at BSN came out with N.O. 2.0, which was an improved version of the original - again, arguably the best pre-workout formula since Ultimate Orange. Taking either 1.0 or 2.0, there was a very unique "focused * intense edge" you simply didn't get from other pre-workout formulas. However, the competition in the category intensified a lot around the same time 2.0 was released. BSN then switched to a much smaller can, different formula - a version I'll call 3.0. 3.0 was hands down a total failure. Whatever BSN saved in shipping and increased selection at stores because of the smaller can was lost by a product that had lost all of its unique edge mentioned above. The dedicated N.O. user shopped around and all other tertiary customers would never stick with this 3.0 product. I heard stories of people paying over $80 for discontinued versions of 2.0 while 3.0 was out there. Not mentioning any names..... This formula is what I would call version 4.0. Obviously, BSN got the message that their N.O. cash cow was about to implode and they have reverted back to something similar, but not quite 2.0. Back to the bigger can, with a higher concentration of caffeine than 2.0 -- this product is very good but still not quite what it was. So I'd give it 4/5 versus the 2.0 which was 5+/5. This stuff is awesome! It'll really pack a wallop in your workout! I'm a pretty big guy and I was okay with one scoop in the beginning but have recently graduated to two scoops. Your body definitely adapts to it as time goes by. I would not recommend it for anyone who is particularly caffeine sensitive. It might be a little too much!
