I had no idea what to get my foster son for his 6th birthday but browsing through Amazon I came across this. It looked ideal and had lots of positive reviews. At the time it was not available for delivery before his birthday but there was one available in Amazon Warehouse next day so I went for it. I was a little concerned at the state of the (re)packaging and there was a bolt missing but I was able to find one that did the job. I was very impressed with the design and build quality. I wanted to make sure it would be suitable before his birthday so I had my 27 year old slim and relatively light son test it out the night before the little one's birthday. My son was bowled over with it so much so that he is desperate to find an adult size one for himself! I can honestly say that this was the perfect birthday present; my little one absolutely loves it. It took him a while to get used to it and build up his confidence but he soon started to master drifting and spinning. The way it spins means that is can be used in a surprisingly small space. It is a joy to hear him laughing and squealing as he races about and does donuts on our patio. I was a little unsure whether he would be big enough to ride it; he is quite tall for his age but the description states 8+. I would say that he is just big enough for it, and smaller and I think it would be difficult to control properly. As you can imagine with him being so light the thing really flies but the low center of gravity means it is very stable and is unlikely to tip over. It charges within a few hours and lasts a good 30-40 minutes but as it is so exhilarating he tends to play for 5 to 10 minutes at a time so it lasts throughout the day. One of the best birthday presents I have ever bought, I already have another one put away for my grandson for Christmas as he could not get over the thrill of riding it.
