I bought this filter based on reviews online, as well as many youtube videos. It's compact, and comes with a few bags to fill with water, as well as some rubber washers just in case you lose one. It fits easily in a day pack or multi day pack depending on what your plans are.I used this for a trip to my local federal park on a multi day camping trip with some friends. It was easy to use, and did an amazing job of filtering out lake and river water that was iron rich. There is room for improvement though, and I will go through them in my pro's and cons. It comes with a webbed carry bag for keeping everything together. There is an adapter for a regular water bottle that is sold separately, but should be packaged with it. Pros: Compact Easy to use Lots of extra parts just in case Filters waters crystal clear and tastes great Cons: There should be an adapter sold with it. The plastic bags for collecting water are not durable, and should be open mouth for easier collecting and made of more durable material. Cnoc does it right, and and Sawyer should be including their bags with this. A cap for the end of the filter to keep out debris when not using. Overall: This is still the filter to get as there are multiple uses for this filter, and just easy to use, and filters water the best IMO. Read more

This is an excellent filter, as long as you ensure the following: 1. Filter water before your trip. This wets the fibres and allows water to flow smoothly. Otherwise slow flow for the first 24h. 2. Buy a CNOC vecto bladder instead of the garbage they provide. Works like a charm. 3. Don’t let it freeze. Otherwise will destroy the filter. Keep at the foot of your sleeping bag if necessary. 4. Will filter really filthy water, but that slows the flow considerably. Back flush it after and flow is restored. Can back flush using coupling ring and Smart water bottle see below. 5. I use it with a smart water bottle and a coupling ring. Hang the CNOC bag from a branch with the Sawyer attached, screw the coupling ring to the filter and smart water bottle to this. This filter functions as it should. It filters water. But one of the reasons I bought it was for its ability to mount on top of plastic water bottles. However, it does NOT fit on Evian 750ml, Vichy 750ml, water bottles. It also does not fit on Arwa, Al Ain, or Masafi water bottles in 500ml or 1L sizes, or any others that I have tried overseas. I am disappointed because I live in the Middle East and travel to South East Asia regularly and it seems that the standard bottle mouth / thread size in these areas is just slightly larger than the 28mm thread on the Sawyer filters. (I tried both the Sawyer Squeeze and the Sawyer Micro). I realize that Sawyer has not promised a universal fit, but I thought others who may be considering this filter for international use should be aware of the compatibility issues. I will probably return this filter and look for one that is more suited to my AOR. Edited to add: This filter does fit on the top of Fiji water bottles, 1000ml, 750ml, and 500ml. Read more
