The third time I tried this juicer, large chunks of plastic from the filter housing unit ended up in my drink and when I took the machine apart, the entire housing had been shredded--and all I was juicing was peeled pineapple. I then saw that several other reviewers have had the same problem, but when I contacted Cuisinart, they indicated they could not replace the filter housing because they don't stock that part (a main part), but that if I paid for shipping, which they estimated at ten dollars, they'd replace it. Given that the problem is a serious one, of their own doing, and something several other reviewers have noted, I'm not paying a penny more nor am I going to invest the time to pack it and take it to the post office (I did offer to send a photo of the damaged part, but they still want me to ship the whole machine to them). As other reviewers have noted, the size is ideal, it's great for fruit, but when it comes to greens, it's really poor. But for me the bottom line is if the plastic gets ground into my drink and the manufacturer expects me to shell out money to fix the problem, I don't want their product. Read more
