I've been on the hunt for a smooth, smear-free ink pen (not gel). The Jetstream is the answer to my problems. This pen's ink writes so smooth, the lines are nice and bold, and best of all, no smear. I have a Pilot G2 that I absolutely love, but at work when I need to write/sign something that is important, I use this. Wish I could find one in a metal body, but that's fine. I tend to be a snob when it comes to my choice of writing instruments. I've used Uni-Ball Jetstream pens for years, and swear by them. I can easily justify their price with the smooth, quality writing experience that I get anytime I use these pens. Typically, I buy the two-packs of their Jetstream black ink pens, and use them until they run out of ink, but I randomly decided to treat myself to this pen, which I honestly didn't know existed until I saw it on Amazon (funny how that happens). The immediate function that I noticed was the smooth retraction mechanism that doesn't "click" as you push on the end of the pen, but rather provides a fluent, smooth extension and retraction. In my opinion, it provides and extra sense of elegance that is fitting of the name "Premier", but I've wondered if some consumers might find it annoying as there's no way to tell if the pen has retracted or extended other than looking at the tip of the pen. Personally I love it. It uses the same ink and cartridge as their other pens, so there's no difference or sacrifice when it comes to how well it writes, it simply feels more sophisticated. Read more
