This product contains 1000 IU of mixed tocopherol vitamin E. It is said that mixed T's are better and more effective than the old formulations containing only alpha tocopherol. My endocrinologist recommended them since they contain the mixture, and although I can't say what they do (I felt fine prior to taking them), I have no complaints about them as gelcaps - they never leak or smell or have any other defects that I know of. NOTE: I have heard that Vitamin E can act as an anticoagulant. Therefore, anyone already on anticoagulant therapy should consult his/her doctor before taking Vitamin E. Read more
