Like many people the past week, I have been scrambling to find home gym equipment. While I was hesitant about the price at first ($399 at the time), you will find that you would probably pay alot more buying the individual pairs which take up more space. After a week of use, I am highly satisfied with the dumbells. Easy to use, comfortable and highly durable. It takes a workout or 2 to get used to the feel. Certain workouts (any chest press or squat) require little adjustment with your positioning and wrist, but never is range of motion limited. Obviously these are more delicate than your local gym weights so DO NOT DROP by any means necessary. However, if handled with care, the feel becomes natural and you don't feel like your holding little machines. I highly recommend these dumbells. Fantastic value, a space saver and a great investment during these times and even after this all passes. Edit: 5 months of heavy use. These have held up real well. No issues to date. Like others have mentioned, the weight discs have a slight give. I only noticed this after a month or 2. Nothing to worry about in my opinion. As long as you're not dropping these hard into the base or onto the floor, these should last a while. Edit #2: 9 months in and these are still holding up. There is some aesthetic wear and tear that doesn't affect function. The chrome paint on the handle is starting to chip. Other than that, these are still proving to be highly durable. Read more

I have been using it since one month and it is working great. It has good locking mechanism but that makes me nervous too. It is very delicate locking system and it could be damaged easily if dropped or handled badly. This is best if you use it carefully for home workouts!! Hope they have warranty on this. Read more

Great, durable, adjustable. Got a second one to complete the set. You can adjust it in increments of either 2.5 or 5 lbs (these amounts are not even) ranging from 5 to 52.5 lbs. It can be a bit quirky, make sure that if you do have two of them, that you set them back in 'properly', otherwise you'll have to fiddle around with the dumbbells to allow the mechanism to magnetize and latch again. Compré el kit que incluye la base. Es muy práctico tomarlas de ahí y tienes toda la flexibilidad de cambiar el peso muy rápido según la rutina y parte de tu cuerpo que quieras trabajar. Tenia unas mancuernas que había que estar cambiando el peso en cada ejercicio y era muy tardado y tener mancuernas de todos los pesos ocupa mucho espacio y tampoco es tan práctico. El cambio de peso es muy sencillo, se giran las dos perillas al mismo peso en cada mancuerna y listo se levanta de la base. Quieres otro peso? La regresas y cambias de nuevo el peso y listo. El material es muy buena calidad y su forma impide que anden desplazándose en el piso. El único pero y es relativo es que así levantes 52lbs o 5lbs el tamaño (largo) de la mancuerna no cambia y puede ser muy aparatosa para pesa muy bajos, como ya levantando 35, no me afecta ese tema, si vas empezando tal vez si. Compré dos de estas mancuernas (1090) en 2017. Decidí irme por las 1090 en lugar de las 552 porque pensé que las 552 me quedarían chicas con el paso del tiempo. Hasta ahora estoy muy contento con la decisión, pues no estoy ni cercano a alcanzar las 90 libras por mancuerna con los ejercicios que he realizado. Después de 7 años puedo asegurar que la calidad de armado es excepcional; las mancuernas se ven casi como cuando las compré salvo por algunos raspones involuntarios que les he hecho. Considero que la textura en la barra metálica es buena para mantener buen agarre, aunque en mi experiencia prefiero usar guantes cuando cargo mucho peso en caso de que la presión de mis manos no sea suficiente para evitar un desliz. Después de cada set bajo las mancuernas lentamente y las descanso en el piso sin dejarlas caer, y nunca he tenido problemas con el mecanismo. Sobre el mecanismo de selección de peso, funciona sin complicaciones. Nunca me ha ocurrido que se atore o no levante el disco deseado. Estoy tan satisfecho que recién compré el par de 552 para tener un juego adicional y hacer ejercicios que requieran incrementos de carga inferiores. 100% recomendada. Read more

Overall quality: very good Grip: For a small size guy like me, it feel very convenient, but you definitely need gloves to train with. Weight plates: the locking tabs are made of metal. (In the previous versions, the locking tabs were made of hard smooth plastic tabs which gets eroded with time and the handles could not hold the plates) Length: They are long dumbbells. You might find some exercises would be a bit awkwardly performed. But with some maneuvers, you will get use to it. Changing weights: very smooth to change. Keep in mind that you jump by 2-3 kg in each change. That's a big jump for some exercises. (I wish if Bowflex would make something for micro-loading) Generally I am very pleased with them. Read more
