So I've tried TONS of protein powders...you name it, I've probably tried it (Optimum, BSN, Chocorite, wonderslim, EAS, designer, aria...you get the idea). Of course there are different types and this one is an 80:20 blend of cassein:whey, but let me tell you the taste is AMAZING!!! I usually never like vanilla protein, but this stuff is great. I was looking at protein shake recipes on youtube and came across a video and this is what the lady used in some mocha peanut butter shake and when she tasted it she made it seem like it was the best thing she ever ate - you know, like how Rachel Ray does "mmmm, mmmm, MMMMM, ooohhh this is yuumm-o" lol! I was thinking "I know it's not that good!" But of course I had to try it, and so glad I did! I love to have a protein shake for breakfast to help with weightloss. I was using just Optimum Nutrition whey, but of course since it is digested quickly, I'm hungry again in an hour, even with 2 scoops. So now this is how I make my shake: -Fill a 28 oz. blender bottle with about 4 oz. water -Add 1 scoop UMP vanilla, and 1 scoop Optimum Double Rich chocolate -Add a spoonfull of instant folgers decaf coffee (sometimes I use caffeinated instant, but trying to cut back on caffeine or if I take a preworkout that already has caffeine in it I definitely use decaf). -Add a capful of sugarfree vanilla syrup (I use torani cause that's what they sell at Wally World) -Then, fill to the top with unsweetened vanilla almond milk, shake, let it sit for a couple minutes to let the coffee dissolve, then shake again...voila! Doesn't even taste like a protein shake. I have this every morning and sometimes during the day to get some extra protein or if I'm hungry and want something quick and filling. It tastes delicious and keeps me full for at least 3 hours. My husband says all protein powders are nasty, well he made a shake with this in just water one day and told me, "hey, that UMP stuff ain't bad", translation, it's the bomb dot com! A little pricey, but worth it and since I mix it with Optimum it lasts longer (not that Optimum is much cheaper). Amazon has a good price on it and it's even better with subscribe & save or if you shop at Netrition.com it's $36.49 there if you have some other things to get you can snap some of this up too...highly recommended! Not super knowledgeable about power, but the vanilla tasted fine and dissolved well enough at the right ratio. I think for a normal glass, the provided measure cup is too big, such that the powder won't completely dissolve and will clump. You might have to do some testing to get the ratio right. Read more

By far, UMP protein is the best tasting and easiest to digest I have tried. I've tried several flavors, but usually come back to vanilla, as it blends great with fruit, etc for smoothies. Blend the right amount of milk or almond milk and UMP and it can really taste like a milkshake, but with more protein and less calories. I believe what makes this the best is the casein protein. I have been buying Beverly UMP protein powder for years. I've tried several other protein powders, and I just haven't found one that matches it. This is a protein powder that is versatile, mixes well (not gritty), tastes good, low calorie (120 calories/scoop), and provides a sufficient amount of protein (20 grams). One thing I've found you have to be careful about a lot of protein powders out there, especially some highly commercialized brands, is they require 2 scoops of powder & can be high calorie too. Only 1 scoop of Beverly is required to make a protein shake. I use the protein powder mainly for a snack, for breakfast, and post workout. I typically buy the vanilla because I mix it with Greek yogurt and berries for a yummy smoothie, or another favorite of mine is mix it with about 1/4 cup of water, some sliced strawberries, and about 1/4 cup of oatmeal. It may sound strange, but it is so good and filling! I also like the chocolate powder for times when I really want chocolate and don't want all the calories and sugar. 1 scoop has 1 gram of sugar in it, whereas 1 Hershey kiss has slightly over 2.5 grams of sugar! An 8 oz. glass of yummy chocolate goodness or 1 chocolate Hershey kiss? Hmm, I'll take the chocolate protein shake. The secret to make it super yummy is to not use too much water, shake it up real good in a shaker bottle or blender, and then add a handful of ice & shake, shake, shake! Drinking it cold makes all the difference in the world. Oh! Another little tip, mix the protein powder with a little bit of skim milk and make chocolate or vanilla pudding. No need to use an entire scoop of the powder to make the pudding. It may take a little trial and error to get it right, but I promise it is a great alternative to pudding pack, and much better for you. I recommend giving this protein powder a try if you haven't tried it before. I don't think you will be disappointed in the taste and how it mixes. I wish it cost less, but I'd much rather pay for the quality than pay less and get that nasty, gritty stuff you can get at the big box stores. Read more
